When Presence is the Difference | Resources

Intro
In the aftermath of Israel’s sin, God warns that His people cannot assume His presence while continuing in rebellion. Moses passionately pleads for God to remain with them, recognizing that God’s presence is the only thing that truly sets Israel apart from the nations.
This chapter reveals that God’s people need more than blessings, protection, or success—they desperately need God Himself.
Quote
“God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.” – John Piper

Gospel Connection
Through Jesus, we don’t just receive blessings—we receive God Himself. Moses understood that the presence of God mattered more than the Promised Land, and the gospel reveals that our greatest gift is communion with God through Christ. Jesus came not merely to improve our lives but to reconcile us to the Father. Through the Holy Spirit, God’s presence now dwells continually within believers.
Response
Pray: Lord, let Your presence be what I desire most, and help me seek You above every lesser thing.
Do: Prioritize time with God over productivity one day this week.
