The Bible's Message in 3 Simple Truths
The Bible is God’s message to humanity. It reveals everything we need to know about God, ourselves, and salvation (2 Timothy 3:16–17). At its core, the Bible teaches three simple truths:
1. We Have a Problem: Sin
Sin is any thought, attitude, or action that falls short of God’s perfect standard. Every person has sinned (Romans 3:23), and sin separates us from a holy God. The consequence of sin is death—eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). No amount of good works can remove our sin or restore our relationship with Him.
2. God Provided the Solution: Jesus Christ
Because God loves us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do what we could never do for ourselves. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose again, offering forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him (John 3:16; 1 John 4:10).
Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6). Through Him alone, our sin can be forgiven and our relationship with God restored.
3. You Must Make a Decision
Knowing about Jesus is not enough. Each person must decide what to do with Him.
The Bible calls us to place our trust in Jesus Christ and receive God’s free gift of salvation (John 1:12). There are only two responses:
- Accept Him and receive forgiveness and eternal life.
- Reject Him and remain separated from God.
Delaying the decision is still a decision. None of us knows what tomorrow holds (2 Corinthians 6:2).
What Will You Do with Jesus Christ?
This is the most important question you will ever answer. The Bible says, “There is salvation in no one else” (Acts 4:12).
If you have never trusted Christ, you can do so right now. Talk to Him in prayer and place your faith in Him.
A Sample Prayer
Father in Heaven,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and place my trust in Him alone for salvation. Lord Jesus, come into my life as my Savior and Lord.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Bible says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” If you have trusted Christ, He has forgiven your sins and given you eternal life.
